Tasting: Red Mountain Laurel

Name: Red Mountain Laurel
Variety: Native American Grape Variety
Region: Virginia
Country: USA
Year:
Price: $9.99

Winery Review: This is a distinctive dessert wine made from a blend of native American grape varieties. It exhibits flavors of fresh grapes and cherries that are complemented by a sweet, smooth finish. A nice accompaniment for chocolate desserts, delicious poured over pound cake, or served as an aperitif.

My Review: This wine was definitely a sweet desert wine. It smelled and tasted like Welch’s grape juice. The sparkling kind of red grape juice that you drink at new years before you turn 21. I was not fond of this wine, but they suggested cooking desert with it and pairing it with the desert. I could definitely see that being a good combination. You can’t go wrong with chocolate and wine.
